Lina: I’m good. How about you?
Lina: Aku baik-baik saja. Bagaimana dengan kamu?

Exa: So am I. Thanks.
Exa: Aku juga. Terima kasih.

Lina: Btw, how was your semester break?
Lina: Ngomong-ngomong, bagaimana liburan semestermu?

Exa: It was so amazing. There were lots of experiences.
Exa: Sangat menakjubkan. Ada banyak pengalaman.

Lina: Would you like to share with me?
Lina: Apakah kamu ingin berbagi denganku?

Exa: Don’t you mind?
Exa: Apakah kamu tidak keberatan?

Lina: Absolutely not. I’m so curious about what makes you happy.
Lina: Sama sekali tidak. Aku sangat ingin tahu tentang apa yang membuat kamu bahagia.

Exa: You know if Indonesia has so many cultures and tradition in every place.
Exa: Kamu tahu jika Indonesia memiliki begitu banyak budaya dan tradisi di setiap tempat.

Lina: Yes. No doubt about it.
Lina: Ya. Tidak diragukan lagi.

Exa: The journey was started from North Sumatra.
Exa: Perjalanan dimulai dari Sumatera Utara.

Lina: Wait… It’s my grandparent’s village.
Lina: Tunggu … Ini desa kakek nenekku.

Exa: Oh… really? I don’t know about it?
Exa: Oh … benarkah? Aku tidak tahu tentang itu?

Lina: Yeah. They live in Brastagi.
Lina: Ya. Mereka tinggal di Brastagi.

Exa: Wow! It’s such a coincidence
Exa: Wow! Kebetulan sekali.

Lina: Oh my gosh! I’m so curious. Tell the story, girl.
Lina: Ya ampun! Aku sangat penasaran. Ceritakan kisahnya, teman.

Exa: Well. I have no doubt if North Sumatra is awesome. I visited Lake Toba which is an awesome natural and beautiful lake.
Exa: Baiklah.

Lina: Yes, I agree with you. Lake Toba is the most famous lake in Indonesia because of its large size and uniqueness in the form of an island in the middle of Lake Toba.  You don’t need to worry if you want to stay at Lake Toba because along the banks of Lake Toba there are many inns.

Exa: Yes, you’re absolutely right. I spent 3 days out there and stayed in one of an inn near Lake Toba. It was awesome.
Exa: Ya, kamu memang benar.

Lina: What did you at Lake Toba?

Exa: I visited the ruins of an ancient Batak village which is one of the most famous places on Lake Toba. It has a stone chair site for a past court that can be found in the nearby village of Ambarita. I hired a guide to take me to the destination. I learned lots of history.
Aku belajar banyak sejarah.

Lina: Yup. That’s true. And what next?
Lina: Yup. Itu benar. Lalu apa selanjutnya?

Exa: I rode a motorcycle to see the daily village life on Samosir Island. I found old churches, the volcano and interesting activities of the villagers. Guess what? I bought Ulos woven cloth which is a traditional Batak cloth used in dances and rituals.

Lina: For real?! I assumed if you visited the village of Buhit which lots of famous for weavers.
Lina: Serius?!

Exa: Yes, you’re right. But how do you know lots of information about Lake Toba?
Exa: Ya, benar. Tetapi bagaimana kamu tahu banyak informasi tentang Danau Toba?

Lina: My grandma spent her childhood at Lake Toba until she married and moved to Brastagi.

Exa: Oh, I see. I tried new experience by doing fishing.
Exa: Oh, begitu. Aku mencoba pengalaman baru dengan memancing.

Lina: Really? Did you do it? Lake Toba is filled with fish of various sizes that usually swim around the inn dock and the beach wall.
Lina: Benarkah?

Exa: But I couldn’t catch any fish at all.
Exa: Tapi aku tidak mendapatkan ikan sama sekali.

Lina: Oh, don’t be sad. So, tell me more?
Lina: Oh, jangan sedih. Jadi, ceritakan lebih banyak?

Exa: I’d like to tell you about Brastagi but I bet if you know well about that awesome place, don’t you?
Exa: Aku ingin memberitahumu tentang Brastagi tapi aku bertaruh jika kamu tahu benar tentang tempat yang mengagumkan itu, bukan?

Lina: Hahahaha… But we have different experiences, don’t we?
Lina: Hahahaha … Tapi kita memiliki pengalaman yang berbeda, bukan?

Exa: Yups. Brastagi is the perfect place to learn something about life.
Exa: Yups.

Lina: I agree with you. But, I’m not sure if you only visited North Sumatra. Where did you spend the rest of your vacation time?
Lina: Setuju dengan kamu. Tapi, aku tidak yakin apakah kamu hanya mengunjungi Sumatera Utara. Di mana kamu menghabiskan sisa waktu liburan kamu?

Exa: Well, I flew 2,575.5 km to Lombok.
Exa: Ya, Aku terbang 2.575,5 km ke Lombok.

Lina: Really! Wow! Amazing! I am so interested. Tell me!
Lina: Sungguh! Wow! Luar biasa! Aku sangat tertarik. Katakan padaku!

Exa: There are so many beautiful beaches at Lombok. I was so amazed. I visited Senggigi Beach. Senggigi Beach is one of the tourist attractions in Lombok that is most visited by tourists which is located in the western part of Lombok Island.
Exa: Ada begitu banyak pantai indah di Lombok. Aku sangat kagum. Aku mengunjungi Pantai Senggigi.

Lina: I no doubt about it. What did you do there?
Lina: Aku tidak ragu tentang itu. Apa yang kamu lakukan disana?

Exa: The activities carried out were the same as the activities that other people did on the beach. I did the surfing because the waves were not dangerous for me to do that activity. The waves on that beach only reach 0.5-1 meters on average. Of course, conditions like this are ideal for beginners who are eager to learn to surf like me.

Lina: That was a great experience.
Lina: Itu pengalaman hebat.

Exa: Yes. But the most extremely cool when I did snorkelling. You know what, I deliberately came to this beach to spend time doing snorkelling activities to enjoy the beauty of the underwater. I rented snorkelling equipment at a cheap price. Besides that, I didn’t need to swim to the middle in order to snorkel. Because on the beach I saw a variety of fish shapes with beautiful colours. So that I could watch it directly without having dive too far to the bottom of the sea.
Exa: Ya.

Lina: Wow! that’s nice. Did you buy something for me?
Lina: Wow! itu bagus. Apakah kamu membeli sesuatu untukku?

Exa: Absolutely. I bought some souvenirs for you. Here you are.
Exa: Tentu saja. Aku membeli beberapa suvenir untuk kamu. Ini dia.

Lina: Wow! Thank’s, dear. You are so kind.
Lina: Wow! Terima kasih, sayang. kamu sangat baik.

Exa: So, How about you?
Exa: Jadi, bagaimana dengan kamu?

Lina: I stayed at the hospital because my mother has been hospitalized. She needed me.
Dia membutuhkanku.

Exa: Oh, I’m sorry to hear that. How is her condition?
Exa: Oh, maaf mendengarnya. Bagaimana kondisinya?

Lina: Better than before but she must outpatient.

Exa: May I visit your mother after school?
Exa: Bolehkah aku mengunjungi ibumu sepulang sekolah?

Lina: That’s a good idea.
Lina: Itu ide yang bagus.

Exa: Alright, see you after school.
Exa: Baiklah, sampai jumpa sepulang sekolah.

Lina: Okay.
Lina: Oke.
